It’s recommended to book a moving company at least 6-8 weeks in advance. This allows ample time to coordinate the logistics and ensure the availability of your preferred movers, especially during peak seasons.

How is the cost of a move determined?

Moving costs depend on several factors, including the distance of the move, the weight or volume of your belongings, and any additional services required, such as packing or storage. It's best to request a detailed estimate from your moving company.

Can I change my move date after booking?

We know plans can change. We will do our absolute best to be as accommodating as possible. To ensure availability, please notify us of any date changes as soon as possible so we can reschedule.

How long does a typical move take?

The duration of a move depends on various factors, including the distance of the move, the amount of belongings, and specific customer requirements. Local moves typically take one day, while long-distance moves can take several days.

Do movers pack my belongings or should I do it myself?

Hyperion offers full or partial packing services, so you can choose based on your needs. If you prefer to pack yourself, Hyperion can provide boxes and supplies. If you opt for full service, we will handle everything for you.

What items are movers not allowed to transport?

Movers typically avoid transporting hazardous materials, such as flammable liquids, explosives, and chemicals. They also usually refuse perishable goods and plants. Hyperion allows certain admissible items to be transported at “owner’s risk”. Contact us for more details.

How do I ensure my valuables are safe during the move?

For high-value items like jewelry or important documents, it's best to transport them personally. Hyperion offers specialty packaging and crating services, which is worth considering to provide extra protection for art, antiques, and expensive electronics.

How will my furniture be protected during the move?

Hyperion will wrap and protect your furniture using furniture blankets, plastic wrap, corrugate and other protective materials. You can discuss specific protection needs with us to ensure your furniture is safely handled.

How should I prepare for the movers' arrival?

Ensure that all items are packed, except for those we are packing for you. Make sure items you are bringing yourself are set aside (bathtub, pantry, behind the kitchen island are great spots). Clear pathways of snow or debris and secure a parking spot for the moving truck.

What type of packing materials do you use?

We use high-quality, durable packing materials, including bubble wrap, sturdy industry standard boxes, and specialty cartons for items such as clothing and artwork, to ensure your belongings are well-protected during the move.

Can you assist with the setup at my new location?

Absolutely! We can help with the unpacking and basic setup of furniture and appliances to make your transition as effortless as possible.

What should I do with items I don’t want to move?

We recommend donating items you no longer need. We can provide information on local charities and even schedule a pickup for your unwanted items as part of our moving services. If you have items that cannot be donated (Mattresses, Car Seats etc.) we can arrange to dispose of those items as well.

What is your deposit policy for booking a move?

To secure your moving date, we require a deposit of either $500.00 or 50% of the estimated moving cost, whichever is lower. This deposit is due at the time of booking and is crucial for confirming your reservation with us. The deposit is applied towards the total cost of your move.

What if I need to cancel my move? Can I get my deposit back?

Your deposit is fully refundable up to 72 hours before your move date. Within 72 hours, we will still refund a portion of your deposit but will retain a cancellation fee of $200.00. Your fee goes directly to compensating the movers who were booked on your move.
